JOB DETAILS

Job Function:

• Manage the general ledger to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and in accordance with US GAAP  and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including senior and staff accountants  
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including continuously developing and improving ways to stream-line activities and tasks  
• Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and eliminated in the consolidation process
• Ensure completion and detail review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analytics during month-end close and year-end closing processes    
• Prepare financial statements for internal and external financial reporting requirements  
• Assist with Accounting and Finance team initiatives and ad-hoc projects   
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and KPIs
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles  
• Coordinate and complete annual audits and exams with external stakeholders  
• Develop/train staff on projects and tasks   

Job Requirement:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance  
• Minimum of 5 years progressive financial and accounting experience. Public accounting experience a plus
• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Audit Manager, and/or Finance Manager  
• Demonstrated ability to guide on accounting treatment and/or research and apply technical accounting concepts
• Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, accounting software, and databases (e.g. Epicor ERP systems, ADP, PowerBI, etc.)  
• Previous experience in the wholesale distribution, retail, and/or manufacturing industry is required  
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and GAAP, accounting practices, standards, laws, and regulations  
• Highly organized individual with the ability to project manage, develop/train team members, foster strong working relationships, and work collaboratively  
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy  
• Ability to mine and analyze large amounts of data
