A world class alternative asset management firm is looking to more than double in size in the next 3-5 years, and is adding an Assistant Controller to their team to support their largest Value Fund.

  • Lead the financial and operational team responsible for investor reporting, compliance with the fund agreements, management and financial reporting, performance measurement, and financial analysis for Various Hybrid Value funds
  • Oversee and manage finance and operational resources, including some of which are located offshore
  • Review financial statements, partner allocations, capital account statements and performance reporting as prepared by junior members of the team
  • Lead the process of issuing capital calls including performing reasonableness and analytical reviews
  • Review the preparation of waterfall calculations and distributions to investors
  • Review work of junior members of the team including journal entries, cash movements and monthly/quarterly closing work papers
  • Review valuation memos and report to the Senior Controller any issues and assist in remediation
  • Work with Corporate Controllers to report and record all monthly and quarterly corporate reporting (carried interest income, GP direct interest)
  • Work with internal and external tax counsel on investor tax reporting and investment structuring
  • Work alongside the investment teams on deal closings, restructurings, financings
  • Liaise with Marketing and Investor Servicing teams on quarterly reporting and ad-hoc investor requests
  • Complete ad hoc and special projects and initiatives as directed  
  • General support for Fund CFO and Senior Controller

Job Requirements:


  • 8-15 years of experience (mix of public accounting & and private preferred)   
  • Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise (CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Closed-end investment company experience required
  • Growth mindset focused on creating a thoughtful workplace geared towards efficient analysis and decision making
  • Individual must have strong drive and initiative
  • Superior verbal and written skills
