A prominent real estate investment firm is looking to add a Chief Accounting Officer to their executive team.

Job Function

  • Responsible for all the accounting, finance functions for a publicly traded real estate firm including operational accounting, financial reporting, property accounting, technical accounting, and more
  • Supervise, review and coordinate all SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, S-11, S-4) for accuracy and completeness in accordance with US GAAP and Regulations S-K and S-X.
  • Manage third party providers.
  • Plan and oversee all internal control policies.
  • Supervise all accounting and finance team members.
  • Provide front-end modeling for potential M&A deals
  • Create and implement annual company budget process
  • Produce board materials
  • Establish monthly reporting of actuals vs budget variance analysis and commentary for product line heads
  • Preparation of MD&A disclosures in 10-Q/10-K


Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12-20+ years experience in a senior level accounting role in real estate, commercial preferred.
  • SEC Reporting experience.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Masters degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
  • Experience in developing budgets and financial plans.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with investment management and funding sources
