Our client is an OPWDD non-profit organization servicing children across New York City! They are currently in need of a staff level HR associate to own employee relations functions for their organization. This role will be offered a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH), competitive compensation and benefits, and will be required to float to locations when necessary.

Job Function:

  • work closely with the Director of HR, will not have any direct reports yourself
  • council managers and directors from various divisions/groups on employment laws and how to handle differing situations that come up on a regular basis in this field.  
  • work with an employee population of just over 700 people and should have previous experience working with similar volumes of employees.
  • function as a liaison to managers with HR more so than anything else
  • travel on days you are not remote, if not to the HQ office, then to specific locations across Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan to work on disputes in-person when necessary. (Only 2 days of on-site/travel required per week, travel is non-reimbursable.)   

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with unionized employees and/or any type of educational setting is a big plus.
  • Employee Relations: 3+ years
  • Healthcare/nonprofit: 3+ years
