Fund Accounting Vice President

An Independent Asset Manager is seeking a Fund Accounting Vice President to join their team.

Job Function:
Accounting:
- Monthly work with fund administrator to review final NAV tie out for Funds and SPVs
- Monthly preparation of return estimates
- Entry of accounting data into accounting system (Geneva) (i.e. booking capital activity, monthly fund level expenses & clearing of intercompany transactions, monthly P&I activity) and ensuring internal books and records are maintained parallel to the administrator
- Accounting and pricing of SPV entities
- Perform complex management and incentive fee calculations
- Assistance with interim and year-end audit schedules and deliverables
Other (Reporting/Control/Automation):
- Monthly preparation of management reports and client reports
- Preparation of ad hoc investor or marketing related requests
- Balance sheet and income statement analytics
- Ongoing review of various processes within Trade Management Group, Operations, and Valuations, as well as the fund administrator, to evaluate consistency and establish control/process enhancements
- Management of new entity creations (work with external legal counsel, create new entities in Geneva, and maintain internal records.)
- Work with IT team/ consultants on automation, process enhancements, and new initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7-10+ years’ experience in audit at Big 4 accounting firm in financial services, preferably Hedge Funds or Private Equity or 3-8 years’ experience in fund accounting
- CPA License
- Experience managing staff and workflow timelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with competing demands
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and drive projects to completion
- Motivated, team player, leadership capabilities yet also willing and able to be involved at the detail level of work
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel; Advent Geneva (preferred)
