A leading global asset manager is seeking an Investment Manager to join their Private Equity Buy-out team. With $75billion AUM and a 20+ year history of success this is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team of investment professionals. Private Equity investments will be across primary, secondary, and direct/co-investment for institutional investors such as pension funds and insurance companies located in Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region

This opportunity within the US Buyout investment team will be based in New York. You will be centrally involved in originating and leading US-buyout-related primary investments, secondary investments, and direct co-investments. The role will also include client and prospective client interactions for fundraising purposes.

 

The Investment Manager will join a cohesive group of high-performing investment professionals with relevant backgrounds ranging from private equity investing, investment banking, accounting & finance, and operations.   This hire is expected to play a key role in all aspects of the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Originate, diligence, and lead investments in cooperation with the US buyout team
  • Investment scope covers direct co-investments, primary fund investments and secondary transactions
  • Preparation and coordination of investment recommendation documentation
  • Ongoing relationship management with assigned companies and fund managers including monitoring of investments, attendance of AGM, and advisory board meetings
  • Overall operational support with regards to reporting and investor updates
  • Contribute to fundraising activities including client and prospect interactions  
  • Conduct industry research, screening, portfolio analysis, and monitoring of investments
  • Domestic travel mandatory as well as some international travel

 


Job Requirements:


 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a leading university (MBA optional)
  • Between 3-6 years of work experience
  • Advanced financial analysis, business modelling, and valuation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written / verbal / presentation)
  • An ability to integrate rapidly and to work effectively in a global team of professionals
  • Experience analyzing companies, funds, and industries from an investment perspective a plus
  • A strategic approach, sound business judgment, and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • An ability to manage multiple responsibilities and time-sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Investment banking, consulting, private equity, or related corporate finance field
