A 9+ Bill. AUM Multi-Strat Global Hedge Fund looking to hire a new Management Company Controller to run all of their US operations.

  • Oversee all aspects of the management company and general partner accounting for a large, complex, global multi-strategy pass-through hedge fund
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of process improvements and working with technology and/or other stakeholders to deliver automated solutions (such as improvements to the general ledger and supporting systems)
  • Manage the month-end close cycle for the global management company including the Accounts Payable close, subledger closes, accrual postings, transfer pricing and tax accruals, consolidation and intercompany reconciliations as well as delivering required reporting to the fund with set monthly deadlines
  • Demonstrate a strong US GAAP knowledge with experience in multi-currency consolidation, FX revaluation and translation, revenue recognition and leases
  • Coordinate with international management company controllers for booking and understanding US GAAP to local GAAP accounting differences
  • Maintain cash balances and cash projections for the management companies in multiple currencies and across multiple bank accounts
  • Manage quarterly regulatory reporting including census surveys, BEA reporting, and participating in fund regulatory reporting and provide semi-annual expense reporting to investors
  • Annual production of unaudited standalone and consolidated financial statements for tax purposes and support the fund team in the annual audit
  • Maintain GP entities and accounting for incentive payments and distributions
  • Calculate and monitor partner capital projections and initiate capital calls as required
  • Liaise with Tax team on inputs for partner/GP returns
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants
  • Report to the Global Controller  

Job Requirements:


  • ~ 10+ years of accounting experience with a mixture of private/public experience
  • Degree in Business (Accounting, Finance preferred)
  • CPA Preferred
  • Previous hedge fund experience preferred (pass-through or multi-manager a plus)
  • Experience with Workday Financials or HCM a plus
  • Technologically savvy with a track record of driving improvements to systems and processes
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Capable of working independently and taking on increased responsibilities as the firm grows
