A leading global investment bank headquartered in EU with offices worldwide is seeking a Market Risk Analyst (Credit). They have an integrated trading platform that operates 24/7 worldwide. The Risk Division is dedicated to helping to build the Bank’s business lines while maintaining world-class Risk oversight & trade monitorization. The US Risk division supports all of the Americas including US, Canada & Latin America.   The focus of this hire will be to join the Global Market Risk team in New York City—specifically within the US Credit Team. As a new Market Risk team member, this hire will be part of a global team that works directly with the trading responsible for oversight of market risk, counterparty risk for Prime, Funds, Corporate, including liquidity & structural risk—across modeled risk, pricing and liquidity risk models. As part of the team, this hire will also be active in designing Market and Counterparty risk models and metrics including VaR. Finally, as part of this global risk platform, this hire will monitor &verify market and counterparty risk metrics and P&L for the group’s activities.     This role will be part of the Structured & Liquid Credit Team focused on Market & Counterparty Risk.

As part of a global team, this role will focus on the Bank’s Credit & Structure Credit Products group. In this role this new hire will adhere to the Bank’s global guidelines:

  • Ensure that market risks are accurately assessed, measured, validated and managed in compliance with the Bank’s published Risk policies & controls
  • Provide transactional analysis of all trades providing necessary authorization in accordance to local & global framework—this includes daily risk reporting, deal validation, limit approvals & trade flow
  • Regularly review & report on market risk exposures & diligently follow up on all excesses to management utilizing transversal portfolio analysis
  • Work with the trading desk to ensure that limits & thresholds for market risk are in compliance with the Bank’s local and global Market Risk guidelines
  • Work with Local & Global Risk and Trading teams to validate new products, limits & increases

Locally, this hire will work within the Risk team as an extension to the Bank’s Credit & Structured Products team to:

  • Identify and report on US specific market dynamics, trends, competitive and client activities & macro trends
  • Actively participate & contribute to the Bank’s US Market Risk policies and approaches to improve its current approach, measurements & methodologies to create the most competitive approach to provide an edge
  • Provide regular reporting & analysis to the Risk Management Committee & Structured Credit Trading Group and ensure that all market risk limits & liabilities are understood and accurately measured in compliance with the Bank’s policies
  • Meet with local regulators as a requirement and ensure the Bank’s risk framework is comprehensive and up-to-date
  • As a critical team member, work with local management & business lines, across support functions including various business lines, support functions, auditors et al

Job Requirements:


  • 10- 15+ years proven Market Risk Management Experience
  • Bachelors or higher from an accredited Engineering or Business School—advanced degrees preferred
  • Proven experience in Market Risk with demonstrated expertise in Credit including Liquid Credit, Financing, Structured Products (ABS, MBS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, CDOs) Corporate Bonds (IG/HG, X0 & HY) Leverage Loans & Derivatives
  • Proven technical skill sets with Credit expertise in counterparty including Hedge Funds, SPV, Insurance Companies & Asset Managers including expertise in financing, risk assessment within the Bank’s international Environment
  • Strong communication skills both written & oral including strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with various departments within the Global Investment Bank (markets, legal, financing, compliance, reporting including the Bank’s international teams
  • H1B candidates are considered as long as their documentation is current and they are cleared to work in the United States and travel freely globally as needed (there is potential for regional travel and travel to HQ in EU)

  • They are conducting business in NYC with a hybrid 3:2 model requiring employees to be in attendance at the Bank’s midtown offices 2x per week.
