Our client seeks an experienced market risk manager to join its firmwide risk analysis and management team in their New York offices. The ideal hire will engage in firmwide assessments & analysis relating to capital allocations, investment screening, hedging strategies, and risk reporting. Job Requirements:

  • Daily responsibilities will include analyzing portfolio & strategy performance, volatility, exposure, and conducting external reporting.
  • This role will focus on multiple strategies across the Firm which will require an experienced professional with a multi-asset class, quantitative background.
  • You will also interact with various groups within the Fund including portfolio groups, legal, IR, technology as needed.  

Job Requirements:

  • ~ 10+ years of financial markets experience preferably from buy-side Hedge Fund or Asset Manager
  • Multi-strategy experience working across equities, commodities, currencies, and fixed income (particularly structured credit) is preferred.
  • Significant experience presenting to and interacting with senior management on financial and business-critical topics is required, as is an aptitude for both written communications and presenting complex data visualizations.
  • An alertness and responsiveness to changing market conditions, creativity in analyzing market environments, and an entrepreneurial approach to investigating complex problems are necessary for this role.
  • The ability to maintain good judgement while balancing competing priorities is a must, and the skill to work independently to map out complex projects and source potential solutions is critical.
  • An analytical aptitude and a working knowledge of statistics and financial math are required; financial modeling skills and/or programmatic skills are an added plus.
  • Successful candidates will have well-developed interpersonal skills and experience working with a range of front- and back-office groups.
