Academic Hospital in Greater NYC Seeking a Psych NP to develop a Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT).   

Job Description:


Compensation : $130000 - $160000
Job ID : 13415

  • Part of department of psychiatry, covering the inpatient medicine and surgical units  
  • Act as a team leader to respond to any instances of violence on the floor  
  • Work with team of clinicians on the unit to educate on response techniques and create follow up treatment plans  
  • Act as a champion, training de-escalation techniques to staff to minimize violent behavior or outbursts at the hospital
  • Mon-Fri schedule 9am-5pm - no call, evenings or weekends required
  • Strong academic environment with medical students, externs and residency program
  • Clinically rich environment with a variety of psychopathologies and patients facing many economic pressures and social determinants

Job Requirements:


  • Active NY License

  • Masters Degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

  • Board Certification Required

  • Newly graduated Psych NPs to be considered if have board certification, NY license and previous psychiatric nursing experience
