Principal - Credit Secondaries
Job Function:
Investment Process: Lead deals, in collaboration with S3 and Credit colleagues across all phases of the investment process, including sourcing, deal screening, qualitative and quantitative evaluation of potential transactions, due diligence, underwriting and structuring of both LP and GP-led credit secondary transactions
Investment Committee Communication: Oversee the preparation of due diligence findings and take a lead role in providing recommendations to the S3 Credit Solutions Investment Committee
Deal Sourcing: Source secondary opportunities and maintain active relationships at appropriate levels to support a robust deal flow, stay current on investment trends, and maintain a network within the GP and advisor communities
Business Strategy: Contribute to a broad range of business building initiatives to grow the S3 business
Portfolio Monitoring and Stakeholder Communications: Provide active oversight of portfolio monitoring process, preparing updates with quarterly investor reporting in partnership with platform teams
Investor-related Initiatives: Participate in fundraising and investor-related initiatives over time
Job Requirements:
At least 7 years of relevant experience at an investment bank, asset manager, or an investment advisory role within principal private debt investing, direct lending, leveraged finance, M&A, structured credit, and secondaries areas
Credit analysis experience, strong analytical and quantitative skills coupled with qualitative insight and investment judgment
Proven track record in helping lead, structure, and underwrite credit secondaries transactions is a distinct advantage
Strong leadership and management skills in working collaboratively with junior and senior colleagues across organizations
Superior communication and presentation skills, ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to sophisticated audiences
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment; demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Self-starter with a willingness to execute projects within a small, nimble team
Exemplary interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive information and confidential situations
Team-oriented and collaborative attitude is a must; ability to mentor and take responsibility for the direction of junior colleagues
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
