WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an ICU Step Down RN for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital System in Suffolk County, Long Island!


Compensation : $65 - $70

Job Function:

  • Care for patients transitioning out of the ICU requiring more care and attention than patients on a general medical-surgical unit
  • Monitoring patients with medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators and cardiac monitors
  • Caring for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition
  • Monitoring patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes and ventilators
  • Responding to "code blue" alerts and other urgent situations
  • Floating to other Stepdown/ Acute Units on an as-needed basis
  • Providing a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate


Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current RN license for the state that you are working in (or willingness to obtain)
  • 1-2 years of ICU/ ICU Step Down RN experience in an acute setting is required
  • BLS & ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required
  • NIHSS certification is required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
