A Series-Funded FinTech Company that is Pre-IPO is looking to add their first Tax Hire to their growing Finance Team, this role will be instrumental in building out a Tax Function, helping out with Tax Strategy, and assisting in Pre-IPO readiness.

Compensation : $200000 - $250000

  • Lead all aspects of tax, including the oversight of internal and external resources
  • Lead the tax accounting provision process, ASC-740 (FAS 109), and reporting for the company’s operations, reporting of uncertain tax positions including calculation of effective tax rates, deferred tax items, related journal entries and review of tax account reconciliations
  • Oversee and manage the worldwide provision review of local market submissions which include Statutory and US GAAP filings such as book to tax permanent/temporary differences, true-ups and discrete items
  • Oversee and approve the preparation of U.S. federal, international, and multi-state income tax returns
  • Approve estimated tax payment calculations and the related submissions of payments
  • Expert knowledge of newly enacted tax law including latest statutory tax rates
  • Advise on tax strategy for a fast-paced, quickly growing company
  • Oversee all tax audits and notices

Job Requirements:


  • 12+ years of tax-related experience with progressive responsibility in either industry or public accounting; mix of private and public experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics or related discipline
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of employees including senior management
  • Understand the current digital tax landscape and can review tax return workpapers, tax returns, informational returns, draft and review tax requirements, and design and operationalize process improvements
  • Scale and process-oriented with demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and carefulness
  • Experience in a software/SaaS or financial services industries preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERPs (a plus)
